ABOUT
Vincenzo Di Francesco is a London based composer, orchestrator and pianist.
An award winning composer, Vincenzo has worked on a wide range of productions including short films, animations, documentaries, web series, ads, corporate videos, feature films, theatre productions, and more. Deeply interested in sound design and sound sculpting, he often tries to blend lush and rich orchestral textures with refined electronic elements. His music is enriched by his background in jazz composition as well as by his experience as a pianist.
He has worked on several occasions with orchestrator Shane Rutherfoord-Jones, assisting on projects such as the Hollywood blockbusters “Gemini Man” and “Bad Boys For Life”, the Netflix film “Love, Wedding, Repeat”, and the BBC-HBO series “His Dark Materials”.
Other notable collaborators include directors Marco Fabbro, Gianmarco Formica, Michelle Brand, Florian Thess, Frozia Khalife, Rath Chun. As part of the music deparment he has worked as an orchestrator, arranger and session musician collaborating with composers Kate Simko, Vincent Ott, Mike Ladouceur and singer/songwriters Michela Franceschina, Aurora Giavedoni and Francesco Imbriaco.
He’s worked for six years as the lead composer for the Italian production company Saimeco Media and has been successfully collaborating with its founder and lead director Andrea Martelli on a regular basis. Notable clients include Piaggio Aerospace, Janssen Italy, OC&M Group and the Italian Ministry for Transport.
After his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano, which was achieved with First Class Honours, he moved to London where he attended the Royal College of Music. There, he was awarded a Master of Composition in Composition for Screen with distinction (studying with Vasco Hexel, Enrica Sciandrone and Howard Davidson).
Born in Italy, he was trained from a young age in classical and jazz piano. He attended the Italian academy “Conservatorio Statale di Musica J. Tomadini” where he was mentored by pianists such as Glauco Venier (ECM recording artist), Andrea Rucli, Claudio Filippini, Dario Carnovale and jazz composer and arranger Michele Corcella.
