Voyage ensemble

Vincenzo is the founder, composer and pianist for the Voyage Ensemble.

The Voyage Ensemble combines a jazz band with a classical chamber group (percussion, strings and woodwinds). The group, based in London, has António Sá-Dantas as its principal conductor.

The ensemble premiered The Impossible in March 2018 at the Britten Theatre (Royal College of Music, London) as part of the Great Exhibitionists concert series. 

The Impossible is cinema with a twist, music with zest.  It is an hour long show that combines the playfulness of a jazz performance with the wonder of a cinematic experience. The music, composed by Vincenzo Di Francesco, is written on the images of three silent films by Georges Méliès. It takes an experimental approach to music for film, creating a balance between unforeseeable improvisations and on-point scoring. This creates a vibrant dialog between seen and heard, unique every time.
